Wondering what I do all day, and how I afford to buy awesome bikes? Technically, I'm an Architectural Technologist. Really, I sit at a computer and draw a bunch of colourful lines, which eventually turn into 3-dimensional structures. Here are a few pictures of some of the structures I designed completely or did a portion of the design work. For security reasons I can't publicly post the names of the owners or the locations.

1. An approx. 20,000 square foot, 58 foot high (at the highest bay) addition to an existing building. Pre-engineered steel structure housing an overhead crane in each section.

2. We demolished an existing deteriorating concrete wall and rotted wood roof structure (complete with weeds growing on it) and replaced it with insulated metal panels and a metal roof system. The small structures you see sticking out house existing sprinkler equipment which we had to work around. This is only the first phase, we're going to be renovating the building you see in the background as well.

3. This was a small pre-engineered steel addition (about 5000 square feet) to an existing building. The structure was designed to suit an overhead crane. The client also needed a loading dock, which requires special foundation conditions and site grading work.
Additionally, at this site we completed a roof retrofit on the existing lower building (it was completely rusted out), and repainted all the cladding.

4. This was a huge addition (I believe 35,000 square feet) constructed with a pre-engineered steel structure and insulated metal panels. Several interior 'rooms' were constructed to suit the client's needs, and special folding hangar doors were installed.

5. This building was built to house mechanical equipment. Of special note is the steel structure spanning over the roof of the building to support a large condenser unit. Also for this client, we designed and built wood pole structures, with open walls, but covered with a metal roof.

6. It's not just buildings we design and construct. We built this 6,000 square foot freezer and cooler unit for a client inside an existing building. The concrete slab had to be cut and removed so we could install venting underneath to prevent the (new) concrete slab from heaving and cracking from the extreme temperatures. Automatic sliding doors were installed where required.

So that's all I have for now, when I get more pictures of the buildings I've worked on I'll post some more in the future.
