Edie Factory Girl

To many, Edie Sedwig remains a style-icon who epitomised the swinging sixties. Her beauty, open personality and individual style drew people to her. Her apparent vulnerability and eventual tragic demise made her unforgettable. As a socialite, she partied with the decade's in-crowd and was catapulted to fame in her role as Andy Warhol's muse.

In this book, intimate images of Edie, many of them showing her at Warhol's legendary New York studio, the Factory, are dispersed with quotes from those who knew her. Fashion designer Betsey Johnson, who was part of Warhol's underground scene, and journalist and author Danny Fields, who lived with Edie, both offer their insights into the myth which surrounded her.

The book is written by David Dalton, one of Warhol's assistants, and Nat Finkelstein, who was part of the Factory's crowd. It's format makes it ideal for dipping in and out of, with each read offering a glimpse into Edie's world.

It brings together a fascinating collection of images of the rooms in Japan's Love Hotels. These hotels rent rooms by the hour, where their guests can indulge in their sexual fantasies. The rooms are decorated to cater for a diverse range of tastes and the is décor is eclectic to say the least. There are subway cars, churches, space ships, libraries and yes there is even a Hello Kitty room.
